A Day of Making Wishes Come True: supporting children on International Roma Day

For International Roma Day, Omladinski centar Vermont organized a Day of Making Wishes Come True for the youngest users of the day centre from the Roma community. Through workshops and conversations in the field, the centre’s team gathered information about the children’s needs, including clothing, school supplies and small gifts.

The children wrote their wishes in letters, which were shared on social media and through other channels with their consent. Citizens and friends of the organization responded to the call, and distribution of the prepared packages was announced for 8 April 2026. The activity aims to provide individual support and strengthen children’s sense of dignity and belonging.
